Sometimes the hand that saves you is the one you never saw coming.
Julie is standing at the edge...literally. Drowning in grief after the death of her husband, she has lost every reason to keep going. But on the very shore where she intends to end her story, a stranger interrupts the unthinkable. Levi, a construction company owner reeling from a government investigation, has escaped to the coast to find his own footing. He never expected to save a life - or to find that his own might be changed forever.
What begins as a chance encounter between two broken people becomes something neither anticipated: a journey of faith, laughter, and healing, anchored by the fierce friendship between Julie and her best friend Georgia. Together, these women navigate heartbreak, tragedy, and the messy realities of starting over, while the quiet stirring of new love challenges Julie to trust again, in God, in others, and in herself. Woven throughout with timely scripture and prayers that breathe life into every chapter, Retrieving Love: The Subtleness of a Napkin reminds us that even the smallest moments can carry the weight of God's sovereignty.
Can two people shattered by life's cruelest blows find the courage to let love in once more? And will the faith they cling to be enough to carry them through the storm and into something that looks like a second chance?
