Every year on November 11, Remembrance Day is observed.

A minute of silence is held and dedicated to the warriors who lost their lives protecting the country on the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

On November 11, a day set aside to honor those who lost their lives in World War One, it became known as Armistice Day in Australia and other allies including New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. In allies nations, the day is still remembered.

The Australian government agreed to the United Kingdom's suggestion that Armistice Day is renamed Remembrance Day to honor those who died in both World Wars following World War Two. Today is Remembrance Day, a day to honor the lives lost by Australians in all wars and conflicts.
