Raw Mango

Raw Mango: Somewhere in Sri Lanka

Before mobile phones. Before social media. Before growing up became something we could document, edit, and share.

There was childhood.

Raw Mango is a nostalgic coming-of-age novel set in Sri Lanka, following a boy through the friendships, family bonds, school-day adventures, first loves, heartbreaks, mistakes, and small discoveries that quietly shape a life.

Against the changing world of the 1980s and 1990s, ordinary moments become unforgettable ones. Friends come and go. Love arrives before we understand what to do with it. Families change. Dreams grow larger. And somewhere along the way, childhood disappears without ever announcing that it is leaving.

Warm, humorous, bittersweet, and deeply nostalgic, Raw Mango is not simply a story about growing up in Sri Lanka. It is about looking back at the person you once were and discovering how much of that person still lives within you.

For anyone who remembers a time when friendships were made face to face, adventures happened without photographs, and the future seemed impossibly far away.

Some memories never ripen into the past.
