Riley Moore has spent her whole life managing everyone's feelings but her own.
She's the friend who smooths things over, the daughter who says the right thing, the woman who leaves before anyone gets the chance to leave her first. So when her best friend talks her into an app built for people who don't want the standard one-on-one - thirds, throuples, whatever doesn't fit in a box - Riley tells herself she's just looking.
Then Cole and Jax message her. Together.
Cole is precision and quiet control, the kind of steady that makes her want to stop bracing for once. Jax is reckless warmth, the kind that makes her laugh before she's decided it's safe to. Separately, either one would be a lot. Together, they're the first thing she's ever wanted badly enough to be terrified of it.
Before anything else happens, they ask her for one thing: a word. Something she'd never say by accident. Something that means stop - no explanation required.
She picks quicksand.
She doesn't expect to need it. She doesn't expect to fall this hard, this fast, for both of them at once. And she definitely doesn't expect to learn that the scariest part was never the logistics of loving two people - it's letting either of them watch her sink.
Quicksand is a slow-burn MFM romance about what happens when a woman who's spent her life managing everyone else finally lets herself be wanted, messily, completely, by two people at once. Contains explicit content, enthusiastic consent, and a safeword that means exactly what it says.
