Hammer is almost as well known for the way it promoted its films as for the films themselves. The legendary British production company supported each new release with eye-catching posters that have become classics of their kind. This is the first collection of these iconic posters, with more than 300 examples drawn from Hammer's own archive, and private collections worldwide. Some are well remembered, most are extremely rare. The Art of Hammer is a testament to the company's pioneering mastery of film promotion, and a celebration of movie art at its best.

Industry Reviews

"Hammer Films gave us some of the world's most unforgettable, most awesome movies. But they also gave us some of the most beautiful poster art of all time. " -- io9

..".serious eye candy for horror and Hammer fans alike." -- Moviefone

"A must for the Hammer fan in your life." - popdose.com

"The Art of Hammer: The Official Poster Collection From the Archive of Hammer Films is a great addition to your personal library, and one that should take up some room on your coffee table so it can entertain your guests. It's a celebration of the Hammer legacy, a time capsule that gives praise and serious study to an artform that no one suspected was an artform at the time of its creation." --Coming Attractions

"As many of the original pieces were destroyed by theaters after they were used, a book like this serves as an inexpensive way to look into the past and see how far the art of movie posters has come, or how far it has fallen.' - The Writer's Journey
