Perpetual Stew

Georgie has moved into their 92-year-old grandmotherâs secluded house and away from their terminally ill father. Theyâre casually employed as a guinea pig for people learning the art of auric massage. Lonely, touch-starved and far from home (in every sense), Georgie seeks companionship in increasingly unusual places: a serial killer possum that lives outside their window, nude pack animals reflected in their mirror, and the warm embrace of their meticulously cultivated gut microbiome. That is, until their best friend Adam decides to set them up with his ex-lover Freya.

As Georgie and Freya grow more intimate, Adam drifts further from reach, being drawn, as he is, into the orbit of his charismatic housemate Nate (an older man with a proud proclivity for exotic meats). But when Nate persuades Adam into a cannibalistic exchange, everyoneâs tenuous relationship with their own body is drawn into sharper focus.

Grotty, visceral and savagely incisive, Perpetual Stew confronts the quiet violences of middle-class Melbournian ennui.
