The mechanically-modified Meris, whose once-human body was engineered as the lethal bounty hunter Cyn, faces another near death experience that leaves her between worlds. Desperate to lead a peaceful existence but plagued by violent memories of her former life as Cyn, Meris attempts to navigate the shadowed road before her. A slow-burn-to-action-packed story of redemption, personal growth, self-sacrifice, and the value of found-family. Cyn is a western thriller that hails from the vibrant imagination of acclaimed comics creator Ibrahim Moustafa.

Having fought in battle and taken a blade through her "heart", Meris/Cyn's cyberneticly-augmented body refuses to let her die. Once a lethal enforcer for a corrupt regime, her quest for a new beginning free of violence is not off to a good start; plagued by red-tinged flashbacks of combat and death perpetrated by her own hand as the masked Cyn, she stumbles off of a cargo ship, leaving a pile of broken would-be attackers in her wake, and collapses from a seizure-like shutdown in the alleyway of a street market in The Rings.

When Ness, a former Union medic, and his two adopted daughters collect Meris and nurse her back to health, she is forced to resume some sort of life; and while she wants to lead a peaceful existence, her violent memories won't let her forget her dark past, and neither will the countless characters she encounters on her road to recovery. As it turns out, Meris isn't the only one hiding from a former life.

Will she be able to right her wrongs in this lifetime? Or will the darkness of her programming consume her?
