The fourth and final instalment in Ausma Zehanat Khan's powerful epic fantasy quartet: a series that lies somewhere between N. K. Jemisin and George R.R. Martin, in which a powerful band of women must use all the powers at their disposal to defeat a dark and oppressive, patriarchal regime

BOOK FOUR OF KHAN'S POWERFUL SERIES, THE KHORASAN ARCHIVES

A TALE OF COURAGE, FEMINISM, FANTASY AND BATTLE

War has come to Khorasan. The One-Eyed Preacher and the Talisman who uphold his oppressive rule are on the brink of victory. Soon they will destroy Ashfall, the Black Khan's capital in the west, and Hira, the Citadel of the Companions. With the help of the Mages of Khorasan, Arian and Sinnia, two of Hira's fiercest warriors, seek out the magic of the Claim to use to defeat the Preacher. With the Bloodprint in the Preacher's possession, the Companions' only hope is to undertake the mystical Ascension in pursuit of the Sana Codex.

The Ascension reveals perilous truths. An object known as the Bladebone will shatter the One-Eyed Preacher's power, but neither the Companions nor the Mages know where the Bladebone can be found, and seeking the answers may cost them their lives. With the Angel of Blood on their trail, the allies are soon separated. Daniyar, the Silver Mage, joins the battle at Ashfall. Sinnia returns to the Citadel's defense, where betrayal from within puts the scriptorium at risk, while Arian is sent to the Wall in search of an unexpected ally-the Khanum of Black Aura. But whether the Khanum is enemy or ally, Arian may discover too late.

When the ancient weapon of the Bladebone is revealed, the knowledge comes at the cost of  everything Arian holds dear. With Ashfall burning, the One-Eyed Preacher brings his war to Hira. Now all the Companions must rise if they are to save their Citadel. In a cataclysmic battle between Arian and the Preacher, the power of the Bloodprint is weighed against the Sana Codex. For those who survive the war, Khorasan will never be the same.

Industry Reviews

Praise for The Khorasan Archives:

'The Bloodprint is somewhere between N.K. Jemisin and George R.R. Martin. You're going to love it'

Saladin Ahmed, author of Throne of the Crescent Moon

'Sweeping its readers up for a fantastical journey across a broken yet beautiful Silk Road, The Bloodprint is extraordinary. The book is wonderfully written; its poetic prose and mix of history, faith, and adventure reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic Odyssey...this time with a pair of women warriors at the helm'

S.A. Chakraborty, author of The City of Brass

'One of the year's finest fantasy debuts'
