Chinese martial arts consist of two essential parts: Nei Gong and Wai Gong. Nei means internal, Wai means external, Gong means work. Nei Gong means that most of the work could not be seen by other people except some minor gestures or movements which are adopted by the practitioner. Wai Gong means the work or the performances could be easily seen by other people such as bare-handed fighting, or with various weapons such as whip, stick, spear, sword, broadsword, chain hammer etc. Nei Gong is the foundation for Wai Gong as after one reaches certain level, no matter how hard and powerful the man will be, his Wai Gong could only go that far. Through Nei Gong, one could integrate one's mind with one's body and mobilize one's all strength into one point or one direction, thus one's Wai Gong could become more powerful and forceful.
