After five years on the alien world of Liguria, Ricardo Webb returns to Earth expecting comfort, familiarity, and a long-awaited reunion with his fiancee, Carla. Instead, he finds a home planet already changed by the seductive influence of the civilization he left behind, where alien habits, language, tastes, and even beauty standards have begun to seep into everyday life. At Carla's family home, Ricardo sees the transformation everywhere: in the food and drinks, in Carla's dyed green hair, and in the cheerful acceptance of Ligurian fashions that once seemed exotic and now feel disturbingly normal. As a public broadcast praises Ligurian life, he grows increasingly uneasy about humanity's eagerness to imitate a culture that prizes beauty above all else and redefines social conventions around sex and appearance. What begins as a reunion becomes a sharp, witty, and unsettling exploration of cultural assimilation, desire, and the cost of admiring the alien too closely. By morning, even Liguria's pink foliage has appeared on Earth, revealing that the change is no passing trend, but a sweeping takeover.
