Open Road Orphan is a gratifying adventure for book lovers who prefer staying inside reading on a wintery Friday night. Aaral (Air-All) has decided to defy her tormentor and escape captivity. A mysterious stranger who has a conflicted past of his own comes to her aid. The cowboy swears to get her to safety while narrowly avoiding his own darkness. Joe is deeply moved by the girl's bravery, but the stress of avoiding prison keeps him wary.
Told in the voices of both Joe and Aaral, the story details their search for love, safety and a home of their own. Together they are no longer alone. But, is Joe a dangerous criminal or a good-hearted hero? Will Joe's demons catch up with him and put Aaral in danger? Will Aaral's psychotic ex find them and recapture his prize? Or will Aaral be able to finally find people that understand her in order to claim the life she's always wanted?
