Nobody Talks About It: Preventing and Living With the Effects of Childhood Sexual Abuse shows the urgency in preventing Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA). It demonstrates this through storytelling and argues that preventive education does not have to be traumatizing. You will not find graphic details, as I aim to educate without paralyzing fear. It is possible to speak of this without causing panic. As a Survivor myself, I share how the abuse affected me as a child and as an adult. I explore the effects of Stigma attached to being a Survivor of CSA, as well as the effects of it and the treatment needed to recover from it. I believe I also offer hope for Survivors who are struggling to see that there is light on the other side of this. There is no cure, but there is management that can help you lead the life you want. I wrote this book to raise awareness and push for change in preventive education for both children and the adults around them. If this work can even save one child from being sexually abused, this work will have been worth it.
