Jules and Asher are a screenwriting duo living in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. When an abrasive studio head orders them back to LA to rewrite their latest script, they ghost him to investigate a three-hundred-year-old treasure map that may point to three treasure sites.
When the studio head doubts they will return, he sends two of their colleagues and friends to Mexico to bring them back. They find them in southern Mexico but that's when things spin out of control.
The four friends must endure kidnapping, being stranded at sea during a tropical storm and a deadly confrontation with the kidnappers.
They discover more Maya gold than they ever imagined, but they can never reveal it to anyone.
