Mansfield Park by Jane Austen was initially published in 1814 and was the author's third novel. Fanny Price, the main character, is a poor ten-year-old girl sent away to live with her wealthy relatives at Mansfield Park due to her parent's financial hardships. While living with her aunt, uncle, and cousins, Fanny is usually treated as someone of lower social status by her relatives and develops intense feelings towards her kind and caring older cousin Edmond while growing up and eventually marries him in adulthood.
