Odaat Reeva is a foul-mouthed rebel; she is anti-authoritarian, a mildly psychopathic, 30-year-old who has been tortured by Clerc Falare for most of those years, her parents allowing and encouraging it. Exiled from Earth to the planet of New Hope with 299 she becomes their Leader in error. She also becomes the Leader of 9000 machines. She remains foul-mouthed, has no care for rank or standing, and any who stand against her risk death. It is on New Hope that she discovers a lizard, a Lacerta, a member of a nation that already inhabits the waters of the planet. They have a task for Odaat Reeva. Return with us and overthrow the World Government, return the planet to its original inhabitant, the lizards, the Lacertilia, who lived on the planet before mankind arrived. Odaat Reeva agrees and with Tynnal Virve, the love of her life, she returns to fight the might of Earth's armies and navies, aided by millions of machines who follow her. Only when the fighting is done, can Odaat Reeva return to New Hope
