In Book One, Constable Rebecca Bradley of the Ontario Provincial Police caught serial killer Jackie Caldwell and put her behind bars. She was rewarded with a job as acting Detective Constable in the Criminal Investigation Branch.
In Book Two, Jackie kills a security guard and escapes from prison.
