Thirty years on the force taught Homicide Detective Elena Morales one thing: buried secrets never stay dead forever.
When a demolition crew uncovers human remains sealed beneath the floor of the old Vale Textile Mill, Elena isn't just investigating a twenty-one-year-old cold case—she's confronting the case that haunted her youth.
Enter Dr. Vivian Hart, Lakehurst's new Chief Medical Examiner. Silver-haired, precise, and devastatingly composed, Vivian is also the woman who walked out of Elena's bed and out of her life two decades ago without a word.
Forced to work side by side to untangle the truth behind Rebecca Nolan's murder, the friction between them generates an explosive heat that twenty-one years of distance couldn't kill. But as the evidence exposes a dangerous web of political corruption involving Lakehurst's most powerful family, the threats return. Someone inside the department wants the past to stay buried—and they'll stop at nothing to keep it that way.
Trusting each other destroyed them once. Now, with a killer closing in, Elena and Vivian must face the secrets that tore them apart before the truth buries them both.
Hot Flash Cold Case is a high-heat, second-chance sapphic romantic suspense featuring a fierce 50+ detective, a silver-fox forensic pathologist, gritty police procedural action, and an undeniable connection.
