This is a fictional story about an 18-year-old girl's adventures traveling with the men who built the transcontinental railroad and the prostitutes who came along with them. Later in the story, she meets a surveyor for the railroad who offers her a different life. Will she be able to leave behind what she has seen and experienced in the Hell on Wheels camps?

The author wanted to reach a wider audience made up of those people who like American history and want to read a fictional account of the people who lived in the Hell on Wheels camps during the building of the transcontinental railroad from its beginnings in Omaha all the through to California.
