A boring 1990 magazine assignment in Germany as the Iron Curtain falls unexpectedly makes Raymond Barton deadly prey as he is pursued by multinational secret agencies. Sought by the police for a chain of murders, he turns for aid to his beautiful German ex-lover, Astrid. Joined by his insanely jealous and profane British fiancee, Mandy, this unlikely trio resolves to recover the apparent prize: a cache of Nazi gold. Time-driven, hunted with murderous intent, they are dismayed to discover terrible secrets buried with the gold. In an escalating whirlwind of evasion and betrayal, they arrive on the scene of a bid for revenge and world domination. In the end run, they have to try and thwart the plan while thousands of people perish.
