Split Second
A Glimmercraft Novel
Starring Megi ?urkovi?
Some people see reflections. Megi sees possibilities.
After surviving the fractured world of the Mirrorverse, Megi ?urkovi? returns to Split, Croatia-a city of ancient stone and mirrored secrets. Her skin now glows with golden Kintsugi veins, each one a scar of a life she saved across time. Through Glimmercraft, a rare gift that lets her glimpse alternate realities in reflective surfaces, Megi can travel the Silverline-a mystical roadway connecting the present with every possible past and future.
But every rescue comes with a cost.
As she pulls lost children from forgotten floods, steers revolutionaries away from bullets, and saves protest leaders yet unborn, Megi draws the attention of the Authority-temporal watchers sworn to preserve balance at all costs. Worse still, something older and colder than time itself is watching her from behind the glass.
A haunting journal in her own handwriting appears, filled with rescues she hasn't made yet-and warnings she doesn't understand. As timelines twist and the weight of her compassion threatens to unravel the world, Megi must decide: How far will she go to save a single life... when every life changes everything?
Split Second is a beautifully written, time-bending sci-fi mystery with echoes of The Midnight Library, The Time Traveler's Wife, and His Dark Materials. It's a story about second chances, impossible choices, and the fragile threads that connect us all.
