I had a solid relationship with my girlfriend Paige, but I never got along with her best friend Alana. She seemed to despise me from the very beginning, and I wasn't sure why. I probably wouldn't have really cared, but Paige and Alana weren't just best friends - they were roommates. The fact that Alana seemed to always be around made things a little difficult.
After dating for a while, Paige revealed to me the source of Alana's hatred. Alana had always had a bit of a crush on Paige, though Paige's rigid heterosexuality prevented it from going anyway. Just the same, Alana viewed me as her competition.
