Young Daniver, Prince of Sirr, hates his life and fears the expectations of the throne. Fleeing his responsibility, he heads west, towards the free city of Anar, only to discover a plot by an outlying warlord to take over the nation. Now, along with the elven rogue, Mystanshir, and the hunted daughter of the warlord, the young prince must figure out how to gather evidence of the plot and get home to warn his father about the conspiracy.
However, other forces are at play for the throne of Sirr. His sister, Danitelle, has been kidnapped, and his father, the King, races after her in the stormy night towards what can only be a trap. Intrigue, danger, and heroic battles are only the beginning for the Nation of Sirr, as a newly risen evil slowly makes its way to them.
