Domineville's Scapegoat
In the drought-stricken South African settlement of Dominenville, 1998, teacher Tshepo Phoologolo believes his community is building a better nation. But when Kabelo Motlhakola, a refugee fleeing a murder cult rooted in land and water, arrives at Tshepo's school, the fragile peace shatters.
As the drought worsens, Tshepo watches his neighbors—led by a charismatic preacher—turn their fear on the vulnerable stranger. Kabelo is the perfect scapegoat, the man whose blood, they whisper, will cleanse their sins and bring the rain.
Tshepo knows this pattern; he saw its deadly conclusion elsewhere. Now, this man of mixed heritage must make an impossible choice: protect his conscience and the stranger's life, or save his daughter from the inevitable mob.
