Three hundred of the most commonly-occurring and essential verbs are shown in action through authentic examples of use from spoken and informal written sources, each verb-entry giving indication of stem together with other grammatical and usage commentary as needed. All illustrative examples â" over 3,000 in total â" are accompanied by an idiomatic English translation, and for each verb a wide variety of contexts is provided. All instances of consonant mutation are marked with typographic signs, and cross-references are given throughout to related entries. Two concise overviews of the verb system of Welsh are included as appendices, together with a summary of mutations, and a dedicated English-Welsh index is provided to further enhance usability.
