What if creation and evolution were never meant to be enemies?
Creation & Evolution: A Urantia Book Study Guide explores one of the most compelling ideas within The Urantia Book: that creation is not merely a finished event of the distant past, but an unfolding cosmic process in which evolution plays a profound role.
From the perfection of Paradise to the evolutionary worlds of time and space, Stephen Ebanks examines the relationship between divine purpose, natural process, the Life Carriers, biological development, human personality and spiritual ascent.
Written for the seasoned Urantia reader, this study guide moves beyond the familiar debate of creation versus evolution and asks a deeper question:
What if evolution is one of the methods through which creation unfolds?
Through clear philosophical reasoning, memorable metaphors and careful distinctions between scientific explanation and revelatory interpretation, this book presents an expansive vision of a universe in which potential becomes experience, experience becomes wisdom, and finite creatures gradually become conscious participants in their own spiritual development.
Creation gives possibility.
Evolution gives possibility a history.
And somewhere within that immense journey, the creature awakens and begins to ask:
What am I becoming?
