It was by coracle that the early Celts made journeys on the sea roads of their time. A coracle is a tiny vessel, yet it is sufficient to carry one soul on a whole voyage. This collection of poems is about voyages, both real and figurative; journeys of many kinds. It is about facing danger and doubt with faith - against all the odds. A poem from 'Coracle': 'IONA' And God said: Let there be a place made of stone. Out off the west of the world, Roughed nine months by gale, Rattled in Atlantic swell. A place that rouses each Easter With soft blessings of flowers And shocks of white shell sand; A place found only sometimes By those who have lost their way.

Industry Reviews

Here is poetry of rare honesty, touching on the vital needs of the spirit in our age and manifesting a profound awareness of - and concern for - the world about us. The reader is taken on a journey through lyrical work that is superbly formed, 'woven and stitched' as a coracle . . . This collection will provide real pleasure to those permeable to the wonder of creation and open-hearted in generosity towards fellow-travellers. A rich achievement, a true delight.', John F. Deane, author of Snow Falling on Chestnut Hill: New and Selected Poems
