"Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems: The Shift towards Distributed Computing Paradigms and the Growing Role of Cloud Computing in HPC" explores the transformative impact of cloud computing on the field of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and the evolution of distributed computing paradigms.
In recent years, there has been a dramatic shift in the way computing resources are provisioned and utilized. Traditional monolithic systems have given way to distributed computing models, where processing power is distributed across multiple nodes and interconnected through networks. This paradigm shift has been driven by the growing demand for scalable, flexible, and cost-effective computing solutions.
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the concepts, technologies, and applications that have emerged from this transition. It delves into the fundamental principles of distributed systems, covering topics such as distributed file systems, distributed storage, distributed databases, and distributed consensus algorithms. Readers will gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by distributed computing, including fault tolerance, scalability, and load balancing.
Whether you are a computer science student, a researcher, or a practitioner in the field of distributed systems or cloud computing, "Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems" provides a comprehensive guide to understanding the foundations, architectures, and applications of these transformative technologies. It equips you with the knowledge and tools necessary to embrace the power of distributed computing paradigms and leverage cloud computing for high-performance computing, enabling you to unlock new possibilities and drive innovation in your own projects and endeavors.
