Meic really shouldn't have wandered out around Dryslwyn Castle when the fog was rolling in. But the anthro red fox had thought he had it all handled: it was just a walk, not even a hike, after all.
But the elements of Wales got the better of him and he finds himself wandering in circles. However, it may be to his fortune or misfortune to come across one of the ceffyl dwr, the water horses of Wales, out there, materialising from the mist as if they had been there all along.
Yet there is a flowing connection between them, rippling back and forth, and Meic finds himself drawn to the, admittedly naked, anthro stallion, wanting to close the distance between them. With a pounding heart and breath caught in his throat, Meic explores the draw and both ceffyl dwr and fox find something new, together.
It's as if they were always meant to meet, their fates already, blissfully, sealed.
