Sixteen-year-old Mia Keen knows she's a freak. Mia grew up unable to control the visions and dreams haunting her. Searching for answers leads her to a psychic who reveals she isn't human: Mia is an elemental. She is an Aether, who can psychically connect to the essence of those around her. Before she can even learn the difference between a Dwarf, Sylph, Undine and Salamander, the leader of the Elemental council reveals a prophecy: Mia will lead a group of misfit teens to save the Elemental world from fading into history. Mia must convince the teens to put their differences aside to tackle each Element's greatest problems. They start with the disappearance of air youth (Sylph). Their quest pits them against an unknown enemy called the Master, who has been kidnapping Sylph. As they find the missing teens, the council is exposed, leaving them twenty-four hours to rescue all of the trapped Sylph or lose them forever.
