When bounty hunter Denver Calhoun defeats a notorious outlaw, Caldwell Wade tries to hire him to kill the sheriff of Stillwater. Denver refuses to take the assignment, so Caldwell sets out to destroy him.
Worse is to come when Sheriff Patton investigates Denver and the outlaw's associates swear vengeance. Denver tries to resolve his problems, but that puts him into the middle of a turf war.
Before long that feud threatens a nearby orphanage, so for the first time in his life the hardened manhunter makes a stand. Denver vows to protect the children, a mission that can only be accomplished at the end of a gun.
