Eighteen-year-old Benji the Boy Scout has one simple mission: hike up Mount Pleasant, cross Lake Serenity, and reach the old Forest Fire Lookout to earn his coveted Happy Beaver Badge. It should be a perfectly wholesome adventure through the pristine woods outside the squeaky-clean town of Perfection. The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and Benji is ready to prove he's the most prepared Scout in America... even if the neighbors seem a little too interested in watching him grow up.
But the trail to Mount Pleasant isn't nearly as innocent as Benji expected. Between killer chipmunks, invisible Sea Monkeys, rogue wildlife, suspiciously helpful strangers, and one very rugged lumberjack named Mack, Benji's merit-badge expedition quickly turns into the most outrageous outdoor adventure a Scout has ever survived.
