Dear Uncle Morton

About the Author

Josh Lacey is the author of several books for children including Island of Thieves, Bearkeeper, the Grk books, and the Dragonsitter series. He worked as a journalist, a teacher and a screenwriter before writing his first book, A Dog Called Grk. There are now eight books in the Grk series, set in different cities and countries around the world - from New York to Rio de Janeiro, India to Italy.

Island of Thieves follows the adventures of Tom Trelawney and his uncle in Peru, battling criminals and hunting for treasure. In The Sultan's Tigers, Tom and his uncle travel to India, following the trail of a golden tiger which belonged to Tipu Sultan.

Josh has written one book for adults, God is Brazilian, a biography of the man who introduced football to Brazil.

About the Illustrator

Garry Parsons studied Fine Art at Brighton College and after that he went on to study Illustration. He is a talented illustrator, whose work has captured the imaginations of children all over the UK. Billy's Bucket won the 2004 Children's Book Award. Krong! was his first book as an author/illustrator. Krong! has been shortlisted for the Stockport School's Book Award 2006 and was the winner of the Perth and Kinross Picture Book Award 2006. Garry has recently worked with Stephen and Lucy Hawking, Jeanne Willis, Diana Kimpton and author duo, Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher.
