About the Author

Vivian French is a highly acclaimed children's author who has written more than 300 books. Her recent work includes the critically acclaimed picture book The Most Wonderful Thing in the World and her junior fiction series with Marta Kissi, including The Adventures of Alfie Onion and The Cherry Pie Princess. Vivian helped to found the mentoring scheme Picture Hooks for aspiring young illustrators. In 2016 Viv was awarded the MBE for services to literature, literacy, illustration and the arts. She lives in Edinburgh.

About the Illustrator

Marta Kissi is a new and exciting talent in the world of children's book illustration. She studied illustration and animation at Kingston University – graduated in 2010, and completed her Masters at the Royal College of Art in 2012. Her previous work for Walker includes artwork for The Adventures of Alfie Onion and The Cherry Pie Princess. She lives in London.
