But it is her friendship with Doc, the family gardener, that continually brings her back to the truths that will shape the decisions in her life as he reminds her that she should always do what's right.

About the Author

L. M. Elliott is a talented new author, who has moved into fiction following 18 years of writing about young people's issues for the Washingtonian magazine. Inspired by her father, Under a War-Torn Sky was her first novel and the winner of the Borders 2001 Original Voices Award for Young Adult Literature. Flying South is the winner of the Joan G. Sugarman Children's Book Award.
