Beverly Lewis
Beverly Marie Lewis, formerly Jones, is an American author renowned for her Christian fiction novels and books for both adults and children, boasting a repertoire of over 100 publications.
Before pursuing writing full-time, Lewis served as a schoolteacher and was also musically inclined, mastering the piano from the tender age of four. Her passion for storytelling blossomed early, with Lewis penning short stories and poetry by the age of nine.
A significant portion of Lewis's literary works revolves around the Old Order Amish, inspired by her familial ties to the Plain heritage. Born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, amidst the Pennsylvania Dutch community, she draws from her upbringing and familial background for her storytelling. Lewis's maternal grandmother, Ada Ranck Buchwalter, was born into the Old Order Mennonite Church, further fueling her fascination with this culture. Despite her Amish focus, Lewis remains connected to the Assemblies of God community, owing to her father's role as a pastor.
Lewis pursued her higher education at Evangel University, where she later received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2003. Additionally, she holds membership in the National League of American Pen Women.
Married to David Lewis, Beverly is the proud parent of three grown children and the doting grandmother of three grandchildren. Together, they reside in Colorado, where Lewis continues to craft her captivating tales.
