It used to be the stuff of Hollywood movies - but not anymore. Artificial Intelligence is here and it's here to stay. Everywhere we look, AI is there - on the street, in our cars, in our homes, in department stores, online.
What is facial recognition and is it keeping us safe or is it government control? Who are the voices of dissent and why are they speaking out? Can machines do everything humans can do only better? Are we headed towards a new era whereby the dangers outweigh the benefits?
Artificial Intelligence is evolving much faster than expected and is already surpassing what experts believed would be possible at this stage. While it is alarming, and in some instances for good reason, it can also have positive effects. The trick is to ensure we align the AI's goals with our own human goals. If this isn't done, instead of our greatest achievement, we might be facing our ultimate destruction.
