Keeping her head down and her heart secure, Macy Sorensen settles into an accomplished but emotionally apathetic routine that includes working hard as a new pediatric resident and organizing her wedding to an older, financially stable guy.

They lost contact with one another as adults before reuniting by accident. Elliot will learn the reason behind Macy's ten years quiet, and he will have to overcome his history and himself in order to restore his belief in the possibility of all consuming love, even though their memories of what happened that night so many years ago are blurred by the misery of what happened.
