Food so good we swear by it
Thug Kitchen started their wildly popular website to inspire people to eat some Goddamn vegetables and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Beloved by Gwyneth Paltrow ('This might be my favorite thing ever') and with half a million Facebook fans and counting, Thug Kitchen wants to show everyone how to take charge of their plates and cook up some real f*cking food.
Yeah, plenty of blogs and cookbooks preach about how to eat more kale, why ginger fights inflammation, and how to cook with microgreens and nettles. But they are dull or pretentious as hell -and most people can't afford the hype.
Thug Kitchen lives in the real world. In their first cookbook, they're throwing down more than 100 recipes for their best-loved meals, snacks and sides for beginning cooks to home chefs. (Roasted Beer and Lime Cauliflower Tacos? Pumpkin Chili? Grilled Peach Salsa? Believe that sh*t.) Plus they're going to arm you with all the info and techniques you need to shop on a budget and go and kick a bunch of ass on your own.
This book is an invitation to everyone who wants to do better to elevate their kitchen game. No more ketchup and pizza counting as vegetables. No more drive-thru lines. No more avoiding the produce corner of the supermarket. Sh*t is about to get real.

Was very disappointed when I received this cookbook, not what I was expecting at all. I had the second one in my wishlist, which I've now removed.
I didn't expect this book to be vegan and that surprised me quite a bit. After reading into it I agree with the reasoning behind it. Thug Kitchen have delivered a serious map for eating better and living a healthier life in a fun and accessible way. The book isn't a crusade against eating meat but a crusade to make vegetables fun and delicious and to get their goodness back into our lives. And it does this without requiring anyone to wear secondhand clothes, listen to obscure records, or do anything before it becomes cool.
Thug kitchen uses the same marketing strategy as popular facebook page IFLS, in a nutshell swearing gets people's attention. Whether it be about vegan food or science using the F word does wonders.
I've used recipes from this book many times, I never have to buy salsa again because the recipes that thug kitchen provide are better than any sad thing you can get in a jar, and the beer and lime cauliflower tacos are a must. I've been eating them all week.
Even without the swearing to liven things up the food is easy to prepare, and delicious in ways you thought vegan food could never be.
Great book. Very funny and engaging. Excellent healthy recipes that are super easy to follow.
