In the beginning we were a group of nine.

Nine aliens who left our home planet of Lorien when it fell under attack from the deadly Mogodorians.

We scattered on earth and went into hiding.
We look like ordinary teenagers.
We are not.
Until I met John Smith, Number Four, I'd been on the run alone, hiding and fighting to stay alive. Together we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They caught me in New York - but I escaped.

I am Number Six. The Mogodorians want to finish what they started.

But they'll have to fight us first.

The next chapter in the Lorien legacies continues with great storylines and likable characters. The book is an easy read with alot of action that is targeted at the teenage reader.
If you are a fan of the movie, the books are a must read. One of the better series in the sci-fi/ supernatural genre.

Comments about The Rise of Nine:

I love this series - there was never really a dull moment ... action the whole way!
As a young and very gullable girl, I find the author's style of writing very convincing. I suppose with the plotline now involving the U.S Government and the Mogadorians working together (SPOILER!!!!).

The whole time I kept getting excited to get introduced to the rest of the garde, and the third book pretty much filled that need (with the exception of Five)!

The only thing I can find wrong with this book is that it had about 3 characters narrating it .... Seven, Six and Four. It tended to get quite confusing after 5 or 6 chapters.
I think the author should just stick with one or two narrators.

The release dates are pretty good, and I don't have to wait that long for the next installment (unlike the next Mortal Instrument book ...).

I would recemmend the Lorien Legacies series with my friends, if they were actually into books ;(

Anyway, great book. I'm waiting patiently for book 4.
