She asked for six months apart.
He thought she was giving him time to save his marriage.
She was really giving him back his life.
Nathan has spent seventeen years building structures that never fail.
The one thing he never learned to build was a marriage.
When his wife asks for a six-month separation with one simple rule, no dating until the divorce is settled, Nathan agrees without argument. He intends to spend the time fixing what went wrong.
Instead, he meets Lila.
The quiet artist working out of the garage behind his rental house sees through him in ways no one ever has. Their friendship becomes the best part of his days, forcing Nathan to confront a painful truth.
He didn't lose his marriage because he stopped loving his wife.
He lost it because he stopped showing up.
Breaking the one promise he made during the separation changes everything.
Now Nathan must decide whether the love he's found is worth the guilt he'll carry... and whether becoming the man he should have been is enough to deserve a second chance with someone new.
Sometimes the end of one love story is the beginning of the one you were always meant to write.
While We Were Separated is an emotional contemporary romance filled with forbidden attraction, quiet longing, explicit heat, and a deeply satisfying happily ever after.
