The year is 2089, and the world's population has just been decimated by a racially motivated bioterrorist attack gone awry. The half million survivors, all living on the Mediterranean island of Bethel, embark on an unprecedented plan to direct human evolution and rid humanity of the pervasive xenophobia and interracial fear that nearly rendered all human life extinct.
Sari Aldira, a recently graduated social worker, faces an irreconcilable dilemma: acquiesce to her husband Brahm's demands to terminate her unexpected but much desired pregnancy or have their child and create a maelstrom of controversy that would sabotage his ambitious proposal to direct the course of human evolution.
