Before the rain, the bicycle always spoke first.
In a small fishing village on the edge of the Yellow Sea, Jian has learned to notice the things people leave unsaid: a hesitation in a voice, a tightening hand, a loose shoelace, a face that forgets to breathe.
After school, Jian spends her afternoons at her aunt Miran's aging photo studio, sorting discarded photographs and folding them into paper cranes. Behind the camera, Miran holds on to a simple belief: a photograph captures the moment when a person finally lets go.
Then Haneul, a quiet transfer student, arrives at Jian's school. She struggles to fill out forms, ask questions, and even keep her shoelaces tied. Doyun, Jian's longtime friend, has his own way of putting things off, always saying, "a little longer."
As rain gathers over the village and Miran's photo studio faces an uncertain future, the three young people find themselves drawn toward questions they can no longer avoid.
