What if your ancestors left behind more than just a name?
Christopher Riley is a literature professor who lives for the safety of his books and the quiet halls of Columbia University. But his world is built on a lie whispered through his lineage for over a century. When he uncovers his great-grandmother Mary Riley's true identity as Dr. Henry Jekyll's maid, and the mother of his secret child, Christopher realizes his academic fascination with the duality of man is actually his inheritance.
Driven by curiosity and a yearning to validate his family's legacy, Christopher recreates the infamous serum. But some secrets are buried for a reason. The transformation doesn't just change Christopher, it awakens a vengeful monster from the past that has been hunting the Jekyll bloodline since 1885. From the pristine labs of modern-day New York to the rubble-strewn tenements of a city under siege, Christopher must battle a physical nightmare he never thought possible.
As the NYPD closes in and the body count rises, the professor discovers that the thin line between man and monster isn't just a literary theme, it's a death sentence. Can Christopher outsmart a rival who possesses all of Hyde's strength and none of Jekyll's conscience? Or will the legacy of the serum find a home in an unsuspecting new world?
