A thousand years ago, black witches created the beast bound by enslaving and binding the souls of wolves to demons. Granting them the ability to take human form, and access to the world's magics.
After breaking free of servitude, and with more of their land being dominated by humanity, more and more of the beasts have mixed with humankind.
With the half bloods losing access to their powers with every generation, the pureblooded wolves have cemented themselves as the alphas of all the packs. The only ones who have retained the might of their magic.
There are two rules for a pureblood:
-
Keep your line pure.
-
Bear at least one child.
To ensure they remain in control, the punishment for failing in their duty is death.
When Natania's mother dies giving birth to her, her father, Alistair, abandons her to be raised by the pack's omegas. Where survival relies on compassion and community over brute strength.
After Alistair suddenly reclaims her at ten years old, Natania, desperate to earn her place and her father's approval, must navigate brutal training, pack politics, and a future she doesn't want to face. Grappling with the inequality within the pack, she struggles to unite them under her leadership.
But when her heart stirs for Leah, a half blooded wolf in her pack, the weight of her bloodline becomes too much to bear.
When a devastating attack shatters their world and a powerful, manipulative alpha is forced upon her, Natania must fight for her very survival, discovering that the greatest threats may come from within her own pack, and her own heart.
