The perfect book for cyclists everywhere, Velochef is a beautiful package of nourishing, delicious recipes for those who love to get out on the open road and cycle - from the man who cooks for professional cyclists around the world. Velochef is a recipe book developed with cyclists in mind by Henrik Orre, chef for the Norwegian National Roadcycling Team and Team Sky Procycling. The book includes 80 recipes through 200 pages that are ideal fuel for before the race, recovering afterwards, and even during your adventure.

About the Author

Henrik Orre started his career as a chef, working in bespoke, Michelin-starred restaurants in Norway - he is the former Head Chef of the renowned Stockholm restaurants Mathias Dalgren and Matbaren. He went on to setup his own company, called Kocken Henrik (Henrik the chef), but an early assignment for the Norwegian Cycling Federation led him into the world of professional cycling and ultimately a gig with Team Sky in 2014. Henrik Orre now devotes his culinary expertise to both of his great passions in life: cooking and cycling.

This is a great book for everyone not just cyclists

I refer to the book for food ideas and what is best for my training and active lifestyle

I would buy this again

I bought this for my bike riding son who competes in fundraising rides and rides regularly with friends and colleagues. He is into healthy eating etc and I thought this would be of interest. After reading through it I wouldn't mind a copy for myself, recipes are great, very appealing and edible for non health food people. The side notes are interesting, giving an insight into bike riders, races and bicycles. This is more than a cookbook for people in training for bike races.

Sometimes tricky but interesting recipes, meandering "story line" but if you are interested in modern bicycle road racing and cycling in general, you will love it. Sky Pro Team racing insights/behind the scenes, and a love of titanium (which I share) are the themes! Useful recipes and ideas for sensible eating especially if in competition or aspiring to it.

Great recipes for on the bike

Some really good recipes and tips - I've only tried the alternates to commercial energy bars and love the Date Slice and the Rice and Phili cheese one. I doubt I will buy a commercial energy bar again. Keen to try some of the other recipes as well - so far its been great. Only downside is the cover etc doesnt allow the book to stay open so you can read and cook - but thats a real First World problem!

For cyclists who love cooking

Good book, nice recipes and useful. I have use it on multiple occasions. Would have benefited from nutrition information. Great for a cyclist who likes to cook.

"It's all impressive stuff - get it for a foodie-inclined MAMIL who never wants to consume a gel pack again." - Inside Sport

"an elegant gift for a riding enthusiast with a love of good food." - Ride On

"Vélochef is not only a cookbook, but an insight into what it takes to be part of a pro cycling team, and is a must-read for anyone interested in cooking up performance on a plate. And the book’s present" - Weekly TImes (VIC)

"Vélochef is a recipe book, but it could provide you with a greater marginal performance gain than any set of carbon wheels or any piece of aero clothing. What you put into your body, directly correlates to what you will be able to extract from it in terms of performance. Henrik Orre has helped Team Sky in maximising their performances, and through Vélochef, he could seriously help you, too." - Bradley Wiggins
