There are now over 1500 recommended rest areas highlighted on the maps, an increase of over 500 sites from the last edition. All rest areas have been categorised to show the reader where there are toilet facilities and free camping, as well as recommended low-cost camping areas. Also new to the maps are fuel availability locations and visitor information centres. Public toilet locations have been added to capital city maps.

Whether heading off on a weekend getaway or travelling anywhere throughout this vast country , this is the go-to atlas, an essential for any Australian road trip.

The rest / camp areas are well marked.
Travelling through the states of Australia, these maps plus the GPS made the holiday
an enjoyable one. We did not take an incorrect road once.
Unfortunately, Dump Areas for campers are not marked.

E-maps and GPS are great but a serious tourer should never be without a good road atlas. This one makes you want to see every nook and cranny of Australia.

My partner and I are retired and we like to do short 2 to 3 day trips with the occasional 1 to 2 week trips. We are also researching our family trees. Both our families liked to move around and were spread out over most of the country. The Road Atlas is very good in helping us plan our trips.
