The War of Art emphasizes the resolve needed to recognize and overcome the obstacles of ambition and then effectively shows how to reach the highest level of creative discipline. Think of it as tough love . . . for yourself. Whether an artist, writer or business person, this simple, personal, and no-nonsense book will inspire you to seize the potential of your life.

Just another hour of procrastination ...

Just a lot of hot air and praying to the gods for inspiration; are you kidding me? As a motivational book this fails miserably. You might as well procrastinate another hour with a cup of weak tea.

The most important book you'll ever read

In his classic lucid style, Pressfield has written a book that will blow you off your feet. If you're expecting some typical self-help text, prepare to be spun 180 degrees. This book is one of the greatest I have ever read. And I read a lot. It outlines the forces preventing us from doing the things that could fulfill us, and a straight-forward, hard-hitting solution, all in brief, logical chunks. Would recommend.

What's all the fuss about?

There's so much hype about this book, I was astounded at how disappointing I found it. The content was hard to absorb because the writing made no connection with me. I felt it was written for the author's benefit rather than to engage the readers. It bored me. I didn't finish it.

Simple, startling and inspiring

This bite size bullet of a book is the ideal kick in the pants for anyone wanting to create anything in life! Sounds general and it is, but the easy to follow advice on bringing some self-discipline to your creative process is both hilarious and deeply moving. Especially useful for procrastinators!
