What keeps so many of us from doing what we long to do? Why is there a naysayer within? How can we avoid the roadblocks of any creative endeavor-be it starting up a dream business venture, writing a novel, or painting a masterpiece? Bestselling novelist Steven Pressfield identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

The War of Art emphasizes the resolve needed to recognize and overcome the obstacles of ambition and then effectively shows how to reach the highest level of creative discipline. Think of it as tough love . . . for yourself. Whether an artist, writer or business person, this simple, personal, and no-nonsense book will inspire you to seize the potential of your life.

Just a lot of hot air and praying to the gods for inspiration; are you kidding me? As a motivational book this fails miserably. You might as well procrastinate another hour with a cup of weak tea.

Comments about The War of Art:

In his classic lucid style, Pressfield has written a book that will blow you off your feet. If you're expecting some typical self-help text, prepare to be spun 180 degrees. This book is one of the greatest I have ever read. And I read a lot. It outlines the forces preventing us from doing the things that could fulfill us, and a straight-forward, hard-hitting solution, all in brief, logical chunks. Would recommend.

Comments about The War of Art:

There's so much hype about this book, I was astounded at how disappointing I found it. The content was hard to absorb because the writing made no connection with me. I felt it was written for the author's benefit rather than to engage the readers. It bored me. I didn't finish it.
