In search of her biological parents a young woman managed to leave her communist country. With her two years old daughter by her side, she was west bound to United States of America. In Chicago, after twenty years of separation, she met with her father and his wife, her cousins, uncle, and finally her Mother and the Mother's husband. She encountered many shocking situations at both her parents and also at the community of her old country's emigrants. She became an emigrant herself and had to adapt to a new language, new culture and adjust to a new life style as a single parent. She took this harsh experience as a price for her curiosity, her quest of knowing her parents, her own point of view of her roots and life itself. Her accent seeps through the pages of her story, adding beauty to her never-give-up attitude, despite adversity she had to overcome.
