George wished he wasn't the scruffiest giant in town. So when he sees a new shop selling giant-sized clothes, he decides it's time for a new look: smart trousers, smart shirt, stripy tie, shiny shoes. Now he's the smartest giant in town . . . until he bumps into some animals who desperately need his help - and his clothes!

All children will love The Smartest Giant in Town, a funny and warm-hearted tale from the creators of The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

WRITE A REVIEW

A great story by a talented writer

5

A beautiful read that our preschoolers love. It's a story about a scruffy giant who buys new clothes when a new shop opens in town. He becomes so very smartly dressed, he is "the smartest giant" in town. But when he encounters various animals needing his help, he ends up giving away his nice new clothes to help others. In our own selfie-obsessed world, the theme (that being good is more important than looking good) rings so true. If you loved "Room on a Broom" (where the nice witch kindly shares her broom with others, who in turn end up rescuing her from the dragon), then you will love this book too.
